Making Comics - Blue Pills
On page #35 of Blue Pills Frederik is reacting to Caiti, his girlfriend, telling him she has HIV. In the middle block of panels, one of the most original treatments to word choice and character development has been played out. Over the course of a few panels the reader visually digests what went through Frederik's mind in that moment, a range of emotions from pity to a desire to flee. This illustrates the principles of emotional expression and word choice, discussed on pages #29 and #30 in making comics. By word choice and visuals, the reader is able to experience for themselves what Frederik is feeling.
