This story as a whole has very little moment to moment or even aspect to aspect - and a lot of subject to subject and scene to scene. This is to propel a larger story at play and to achieve closure as fast as possible – such is necessary when keeping to 2-4 issue stories like Mignola does; which is very opposite the usual Manga serials that prioritizes cinematic pacing over moving through the plot. It's good to know the different formulas for different story priorities.
